Herpetology Projects

Bethan is an avid lover of anything amphibian and reptile related. This love has evolved into Native breeding projects that ensures we are able to supply safe, documented, captive bred amphibians. We are able to jump start eco-systems with frogs (Rana temporaria), toads (Bufo bufo) and soon maybe some newts!

Bethan is a member of the British Herpetological Society, and volunteers with Toad Patrol (FrogLife) Norfolk, and is an active member of the herpetological community. Her contacts rang from Scotland to Norfolk. She is hopeful one day to become an accredited herpetologist.

Safe

Kept in secure environments (free from Chytrid fungus and Rana Virus*), our amphibians are safe to introduce to existing eco-systems.

We even have a few invasive species taken from the wild to stop them from harming our local habitats!

*Subject to annual testing

Ethical

All of our amphibians are captive bred specimens, meaning they have been produced, raised and live in captivity. They live a very happy life in specially designed enclosed habitats on our property.

Environmental

Introducing aquatic and amphibian life to a garden is one of the single most ecologically beneficial things you can do to enchourage the wildlife to flourish.

Legal Disclaimer

Section 9(5) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981:

This section prohibits the sale, barter, exchange, or advertising for sale of wild Native species.

This only applies to 'wild animals'; these are defined as those that are living wild or were living wild before being captured or killed. It does not apply to captive bred animals being held in captivity. However, animals in gardens (e.g. newts in garden ponds) and captive bred animals that have been released to the wild are likely to be included in this definition.
